The Story BehindGrit Athletics Performance
"Greatness, a Revelation of Intention and Truth."
Dawon Dicks
Coach Dawon built Grit Athletics Performance around one idea: football skill is teachable, position by position, rep by rep. Since 2020, he's worked with offensive and defensive skill players and offensive linemen across the Hampstead NH, Methuen MA, and Andover MA area — running clinics, small-group sessions, and full-team pre-season camps. His approach breaks each position down to its fundamentals — footwork, first-step quickness, hands, and football IQ — then builds it back up under game-like pressure. Beyond in-person training, Coach Dawon also reviews game and practice film for athletes who send it in, and works on-site with other teams and coaches to build out their in-season and post-season training programs. Athletes he's coached have gone on to play at the high school and collegiate level, including current college football. "The process is to progress, and if there is no progress, the process must change" isn't just a saying — it's how Coach Dawon runs every session: intentional work, honest feedback, and reps that translate to Friday nights.

What We Believe
Three pillars behind every session at Grit Athletics Performance.
Position-Specific Skill Development
Every drill is built for the position — QBs, backs, and receivers on offense; corners, safeties, and linebackers on defense; footwork and hand work for the line.
Game-Like Pressure
Reps happen at competition speed, not cone-drill speed, so what's learned in training shows up in games.
Grit & Character
Effort and awareness are graded like any other skill — athletes leave knowing how to compete, not just how to run a route.
